Real ID Tennessee
Tennesseans have until May 7th to secure a REAL ID. After this date, a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or another approved form of identification—such as a valid U.S. passport—will be required to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities.
What Is a REAL ID?
A REAL ID is a federally compliant driver’s license or identification card that meets the security standards set by the REAL ID Act of 2005. In Tennessee, these credentials are marked with a star in the top right corner. Without a REAL ID or passport, you will not be allowed to board domestic flights or enter secure federal facilities after May 7, 2025.
